And A Word From the QVA
Since the 'Interstreet Quiz' is always so popular, we've
decided to put on another quiz. Not inter street this time;
just teams of up to 8 people in the village hall on May 21st.
We're going to try and get hold of a PA/music system for
that so that we can have a music round and also be heard!
We'd also like some input on what people would like to see
us organise in the way of events for the rest of the year, so if
you've got any fantastic ideas then please get in touch with
one of the committee. Some ideas we've had are a Karaoke
night; an illustrated history of Quy talk; a scavenger hunt; a
cycle rally; orienteering; a nature walk; line dancing; a
possible indoor games night where people could test their
skill at fairground type games including darts, hoopla, roll a
penny, skittles etc. Over to you.

A Driving Ambition
CADAR stands for Cambridgeshire Advanced Drivers and Riders.
Just over a year ago I joined this group for the princely sum of £10
per annum. They provide a series of evening training meetings followed by
drives with experienced tutors to improve driving skills and reduce accident
rates. The skills are based on Police advanced driving skills and are monitored
by ROSPA, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. You also read
two books called Road Craft and the Highway Code. I have just passed my first
advanced driving test with a silver pass. There are three levels: bronze,
silver and gold. The test is valid for three years. Sunday morning meetings
are held most months and there are two magazines per year. If there are any
riders or drivers in the
village who would be interested in taking this course I would be delighted
to pass on information.

CAROL SINGING
We had a very good turnout for the carol singing this year with about 18 people
turning out on the first night which was very cold. On the following night
we were a smaller group of around eight, but still enough of us to make a
good sound. We made in total £293 which was split between the Childrens
Society and East Anglia Childrens Society. Thank you very much all who came
out on two cold nights, and to you all for supporting us.

David Roff
A huge congregation gathered to pay their respects to David Roff, son of Marilyn
and David Roff. Marilyn and David wanted to express their appreciation.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and kind messages
during Davids illness.
We found it a great comfort and were totally overwhelmed with the presence
of so many kind and thoughtful people who attended his funeral.
Special thanks to Jackie Lee, Barbara Howell, Liz Roff, Claire Egglestone,
Paul Currington and Andrew Martin as well as everyone who visited him constantly
while he was in hospital andat Eden View.
This memory will last forever.
Also a big thank you to all the generous people who contributed to the collection
which raised £850.00. The money is being donated to the NCC Unit at
Addenbrookes.
