Quy Bowls Club Christmas Festivities
On the 13th December the Quy Bowls Club gathered at the "Wheatsheaf"
for their Christmas meal organised by the Chairman and Treasurer, David and
Joan. We all enjoyed a sumptuous spread and got into the Christmas spirit.
One the following Thursday our Christmas Party was held at the Village Hall,
with the usual fun and games. For those who like to keep track of the details,
Charlie Meadows won the "Ever-decreasing Blocks", with Joan Crisp
as runner up. Colin Crisp won the Skittles and the runner up was Ant, and our
new game of "Underneath the Arches" was won by Joan Crisp with Mick
White as runner-up. We even had an unexpected guest in the shape of Stan, who
came to watch the games and stayed for Supper - we all sat down to another large
meal this time of home-made goodies brought by the club members.
Christmas also marks the half-way point in our League matches, and Tom has been
keeping us on the straight and narrow there, so the League Team has had some
respectable wins, and some not-so-respectable losses - but the less said about
those the better.
