CAROL SINGING
Thank you to everyone who turned out to sing carols this year. We had a really
good turn out especially on the first night when we had about 20 were very
pleased to with one or two new faces, and even some visitors from America.
We were very pleased to have some hot mulled wine on both nights from Steven
and Corinna Orchard Street, and Phil and Syd Harper as by then we were feeling
the cold!
We raised £253 and this has been split between The children's Society
and E.A Children's Hospice at Milton.

QUY ART GROUP
The art group continues to meet on Wednesday mornings
in the hall. We find it on the cold side at this time of year, and it does
take some of us quite a while to take our coats off! However we look forward
to a hot cup of coffee at break time, when we can chat and wander round and
see what everyone else is doing, and we are always happy to offer each other
some helpful or sometimes not so helpful criticism!

Quy Fete
For all you budding gardeners we are having a fruit and vegetable contest
this year. Bring along your longest, biggest, funniest shape fruit or vegetable,
childrens and adult classes (if we get enough interest!) to be judged.
Any veg. will do, it's not a serious Alan Titchmarsh type contest just a bit
of fun so get planting!!!
The Fete is quite early this year so don't worry if nothing grows you can
cheat and buy something an odd shape if you can find it. But give it a go,
put a seed in a pot and see what happens.

Quy Village Hall Storage Building
The Village Hall Committee decided last summer to submit plans for a storage
building to enable the chairs and tables to be stored out of the main hall.
This will make the hall a safer environment for childrens games, and
also allow other items, such as props for pantomimes etc. to be kept in better
condition. It will also mean the old wooden garage that is in poor condition
can be demolished to replace the part of the Car Park that the new building
will take up.
The new storage building will sit behind the Hut, and will be accessed via
a new door in the back wall of the Hall. The Committee are pleased to announce
that planning permission has now been granted, and therefore will be looking
for ways of funding the extension during 2008.
