The Fete

What a glorious day, sun shining and everyone out enjoying it. The day raised in total £1187.46 just under £12 short of 2006 but well above the average (Since 92) of £989, so THANKYOU to all those who helped with the setting up and breaking down of tents and stalls etc. To all the people involved with collecting and manning the stalls, your time and effort is really appreciated. To all those who donated items be it saleable items, cakes or talents (footballer and face painters) and to Chick and Maureen for all the organizing (we know it takes a lot of time).
Thanks also to Buster the horse who walked up and down the field many times with delighted children on his back, many with painted faces!!
We would also like to thank Bill Watts for the use of the Orchard, although I have been told there was a lack of trees to shade under this year, Bill assures me they fell down on their own and were not cut down just to annoy Jane!! More sun cream next year (we hope).

The Church has seen in recent months an increase in break-ins, not much is taken (only Henry the Hoover) but a lot of damage is always caused, which like so many things cost a lot to repair and all of the money raised at the Fete goes towards insuring Quy Church. So apologies if this sounds like the Oscars but again many thanks, without village support we would not be able to raise such an amount.
We would like to welcome you all to the Harvest Songs of Praise service on Sunday the 30th September at 5.30 (time changed so hopefully more children can attend this family service).
We are encouraging children to bring produce or flowers to the service and there will be activities like biscuit decorating at the end for their enjoyment. Items and any volunteers are also needed at 9.30am for decorating the Church.

Many Thanks
Quy PCC
